Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which of Dr. Chung's offices should I go to?

It depends on the day that works for you. Dr. Chung sees patients at Luna Dental in San Francisco on Mondays, Vilderman Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in San Francisco on Wednesdays and Fridays, and Smile Time Dental in San Ramon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any of the three can schedule you — call the office nearest you.

Is Dr. Chung accepting new patients?

Yes. New patients are welcome at all three offices. Call or email the office directly to schedule; this website is informational and does not book appointments.

What languages does Dr. Chung speak?

Dr. Chung sees patients in English and Spanish, and also speaks conversational Mandarin and some Vietnamese.

Where did Dr. Chung train?

Dr. Chung earned his DDS at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completed a hospital-based general practice residency at the Palo Alto VA and Stanford. He has been practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2017.

What kinds of treatment does Dr. Chung provide?

General and preventive care (exams, cleanings, digital X-rays, gum care), restorative work (tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and same-day crowns), cosmetic dentistry (whitening, bonding, smile design), dental implants, root canals and extractions, and Invisalign clear aligners.

Does Dr. Chung take my dental insurance?

Dental insurance is more complicated than most people expect. Whether a plan is in-network depends on the specific office, on which plan you have (most carriers offer several), and sometimes on the individual dentist — so no single list would be accurate for all three locations.

The practical answer: call the office you'd like to visit with your insurance card handy. The front desk will look up your specific plan and walk you through what it covers.
